Iowa/Nebraska/Tennessee

In September of 2011 I worked with the Where Food Comes From label again, this time capturing images of pork producers for Heinen’s Fine Foods. Landed in Omaha, Nebraska and was shocked at the devastation caused by the floods…farms completely wiped out and part of the interstate was still missing and shut down out of Omaha. All the area right up to the airport was surrounded by water, and then flying home from Tennessee I saw all kinds of wildfires on the ground that looked more like what was going on where I live.

I really wish I would have had an extra day to enjoy the Iowa farms. There were barn quilts everywhere and I was in love with all of them! I was able to get just a few quick shots on the go, which really wasn’t enough. I may have to make a special trip just to capture some of my favorites.
